I have been meaning to post since Monday about my weekend, and now the details are already escaping me. I know I did some fun things... but what were they?
Lets see... I know I had something Friday night. Ah yes!!
OK. It is all coming back to me now. On Thursday and Friday night last week I had friends over to watch the third season (a mini series) of Torchwood, the BBC Doctor Who spinoff we have grown so fond of. It was an intense 5 hour mini-series, which was unfortunately very disapointing in many ways and ultimately infuriating. (SPOILERS). The biggest problem was they killed of a main character, pretty much everyone's favorite character, and that his death was entirely pointless. The other issue was plot holes so large you could drive the Titanic through them. Apparently they are planning a fourth season, I cannot imagine how it could be any good.
Saturday... well Saturday I did pretty much nothing. That is, I did nothing until the evening when I went out with DH We grabbed dinner and then headed to the theater to take him to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. It was his first time and my third. I am sorry to say that it did not pass the "the movie is entertaining and makes sense to someone who has not read the books without any major plot holes" test for DH. He had some questions that needed answering and I ended up explaining a lot of things from the book to explain why things happened the way they did or why they mattered. It still was nice though.
Sunday I lazed around in the morning and then drove up to my Grandma's. We were going to celebrate Uncle Curt's Birthday (that was last week), but he wanted me to hold off until my Aunt Karen could be there too, so that cake will be made and enjoyed this coming weekend instead. I have not yet decided what to make... something similar to rum cake, but it needs to be non-alcoholic. I am open to suggestions.
I also finished a book - Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. It was quite good, urban fiction if I have ever read urban fiction (a genre I did not know had a title until recently). I would describe it as similar to Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, except much darker.
And then the week came along. Almost all of Monday was spent getting the A/C repaired. It stopped working Sunday night and were afraid it would be a big repair, but luckily it was very minor. It kept me from getting much else done though. Tuesday was also a day of pretty much a day of nothing. I do a lot of nothing now a days though. We had people over for Rock Band last night (Tuesday), and that was a lot of fun.
The rest of the week? We have some plans. DH has his Birthday tomorrow, and weekend social events are forming up. We look forward to a friend from undergraduate visiting us Sunday night/Monday. Also, roommates date for moving out has been set - Friday the 21st. Maybe I can squeeze in one more Rock Band party before that... :-)
